Industrial research on an open and scalable Digital Product Passport (DPP) solution for the habitat sector.
The HABITPASS project aims to research and develop a Digital Product Passport (hereinafter referred to as DPP) solution that allows for a range of necessary and high-value services/applications for the habitat sector and its value chain. This solution should be easily adaptable and scalable to encompass more products and companies within the sector.
The DPP is a set of data and digital information that accompanies the product throughout its lifecycle, essentially serving as its digital identity. The specific content of the DPP depends on the intended purpose/application. Data/information can be input into the passport at various controlled points along its lifecycle, and this information is of great utility to downstream stakeholders in the value/supply chain, although, in some cases, it may also benefit upstream stakeholders.
HABITPASS is considered necessary and innovative for the habitat sector because:

Optimization of an artificial vision system for quality assurance in large-format digital printing processes through deep learning algorithms.
16/05/23 - 17/04/24
Within the framework of quality perception in the market as a differentiating factor for customers, the CICLOP 2.0 project is integrated. The evolution of artificial vision systems, greatly enhanced by the image processing capabilities of deep learning algorithms, enables the development of quality control applications in which the system itself can learn and make decisions based on captured images. In an industry with limited adoption of advanced data processing technologies, the CICLOP 2.0 project aims to develop a quality control system by combining Artificial Vision with Deep Learning and facilitate its implementation in the digital printing sector.
While the initial phase of the CICLOP project aimed to capture large-format images using artificial vision for the detection of printing defects, the second phase seeks to investigate the categorization of defects through the integration of deep learning technology. This need for defect analysis to align quality criteria with customer perception forms the framework of the CICLOP 2.0 project. With the clear goal of reducing the number of incidents in the market, the project will explore how deep learning algorithms can enhance inspection reliability throughout its duration.
The results of the project will be applied to the digitization and process improvement in the value chain of digital printing systems:

Monitoring of assembly systems in non-serial production environments of the habitat industry for the optimization of algorithmic planning models.
16/05/23 - 17/04/24
The PLANIA 2.0 project is a continuation of the PLANIA project and aims to optimize a planning and control system for non-serial production processes focused on the habitat industry. Specifically, it focuses on monitoring the assembly and order preparation environment to optimize and enhance the reliability of the algorithmic models generated for production planning. During the execution of PLANIA 2.0, interconnectivity systems capable of monitoring the assembly and order preparation stages through wearable devices, more suitable for the tasks performed in these areas, will be developed.
The project will enable the traceability of production records through wearable technologies for the monitoring of manual tasks, which will later serve as input for artificial intelligence algorithms capable of generating efficient production planning in the furniture manufacturing environment. The expansion of traceability records through the monitoring of assembly and order preparation tasks will also allow the optimization of organizational flow between different processes to minimize waste and enhance operational performance.
The results of the PLANIA 2.0 project will be applied to the digitalization and process improvement in the value chain in the production of habitat equipment:
