Innovation in processes through the development of new intelligent systems based on the neurodesign of habitat products
Summary
The NEUROHÁBITAT project will explore the potential of neurodesign and the neurousability of habitat products using a new generation of technologies based on artificial intelligence algorithms. The main objective is to extend the incorporation of new design requirements and evidence relating to the user experience (functional and emotional) extracted from the interactions and objective responses of users in a real environment.
Above all, the NEUROHÁBITAT project will make it possible to extend and enhance the decision-making by manufacturers and designers of habitat products, thanks to the availability of new sources of objective data or empirical evidence relating to their performance. In addition, by way of the digitization of processes, the project provides a concrete response to the challenge of an adaptive or dynamic updating of the design of a habitat product, transcending the customization that can be introduced in the phases of the usual production process (that is, the initial stage of gathering information regarding the user, the design and the manufacture of the product).
Results transferable to companies
The results of the project will be applied to the digitization and improvement of processes within the value chain of the manufacture, design, distribution and installation of products in the habitat sector. This will specifically benefit:
Habitat product designers, manufacturers and distributors. By facilitating the transition from a deterministic or static product design (traditional orientation) to an adaptive, dynamic, more customized product design, a continuous relationship can take shape between product manufacturer, distributor and specifier and customers and end users, well after the product has been sold.
Habitat product specifiers (such as interior design studios or architects). By having greater access to more customized products and to new empirical data relating to the performance of products and to their influence over the composition of the space, they will be able to consolidate their layer of differential value with respect to the projects they manage.
Project promoters or space managers. Facilitating their decision-making in the final acquisition of habitat products will enable them to provide the end user with a higher Quality of Experience and offer products that more closely match the design of the general experience of the space.

The NEUROHÁBITAT project is co-financed by ACCIÓ, Catalonian agency for business competitiveness within the framework of the program of Aid for Development and Innovation Projects.
Promoting circularity in the home and contract furniture sector
Summary
The CIRCULAR FURNITURE project is a AMBIT and AMIC initiative designed to accompany home and contract furniture companies in the identification of challenges and opportunities generated by the circular economy. The project basically consists of the development of a sector guide to help furniture manufacturing companies better understand circular economy.
Results transferable to companies
The main results of the project would be the following:
Study of market trends, good practices in manufacturing companies, legislative initiatives in the area of circular economy.
Identification of Catalan companies and their strategies within the circular economy by way of 2 virtual and/or in-person workshops and various virtual interviews.
Identification of gaps between trends and the ongoing strategies employed by the various companies analyzed, in addition to opportunities and obstacles.
Circular economy guide that provides useful information relating to the latest trends and the innovations employed by the most replicable strategies, by sector.
Financing
Co-financed by the Waste Agency of Catalonia, as part of its 2020 program to provide aid to projects that promote the circular economy.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) guidelines and tools to enhance the furniture labour market attractiveness
Summary
The furnCSR project aims to provide SME companies in the furniture sector with tools they can use towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Shared Value objectives.
FurnCSR will provide companies with standards and guidelines that allow for more innovative management models that contribute to improving the attractiveness of companies and their ability to attract talent.
The project will benefit both companies and their workers, as well as other actors within the value chain: suppliers, customers, the community, and public administration.
Results transferable to companies
FurnCSR will produce the following useful results for companies:
A practical guide to deploy and implement CSR / Shared Value practices in furniture companies.
A self-assessment tool for the level of deployment of CSR / Shared Value practices in companies, which will also allow for the identification of priority actions.
Pilot evaluation of 18 EU companies using the self-evaluation tool developed.
Identification of the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to successfully deploy CSR and Shared Value practices in furniture companies, as well as recommendations for the sector in order to promote and support the deployment of these practices in companies.
Financing
Co-financed by the European Commission in its call for Support for Social Dialogue VP/2020/001 (Ref. Project VS/2021/0035).
Identification, characterization and communication of product sustainability attributes for habitat companies
Summary
The objective of the project is to provide AMBIT cluster habitat companies with the knowledge, tools and resources necessary to effectively communicate the sustainability attributes of their products.
In a more concrete and operational way, the following objectives are proposed:
Identify and characterize the priority habitat product sustainability attributes to be communicated.
Develop tools and resources for communicating the sustainability attributes of the habitat product.
Transfer the acquired knowledge and the generated tools/resources to AMBIT cluster companies.
The thematic objective of this project is: "TO3. Improve the competitiveness of SMEs, the agricultural sector (in the case of the EAFRD) and the fisheries and aquaculture sector (in the case of the EMFF)"
The indicators for evaluating the results are the following:
Companies impacted for actions to raise awareness, dynamization, awareness.
Total amount of eligible expenditure entered into the AC system and certified according to art. 126.c of RDC.
Jobs created linked to the project.
Results transferable to companies
The main results expected are the following:
Analysis of trends in product design sustainability: 10 trend reports.
Development of a software tool that allows habitat companies to self-diagnose their current situation in terms of sustainability attributes.
Drafting of a manual for the communication of the sustainability of the habitat product.
Holding 4 training workshops for companies and other actors within the value chain.
Carrying out 5 pilots in habitat companies in order to deploy their communications regarding sustainability.
